Born into a family of musicians, Agnès Sulem began studying music at a very young age. She studied at the Conservatoire de Nice and then at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris where she was unanimously awarded 1st Prize in Violin and 1st Prize in Chamber Music. Alongside her musical studies, she pursued high-level scientific studies.
Since its founding in 1981, Agnès Sulem has been the first violinist of the Rosamonde Quartet. Winner of several international competitions (Evian 1983, Salzburg 1986), the Rosamonde Quartet has an international career and its discography is rich and varied.
Agnès Sulem has performed as a soloist with various orchestras. She has been a professor of Chamber Music (quartet class) at the CNSMD in Lyon since 2012, and she is regularly invited to give quartet master classes.
Agnès Sulem is a knight of the Order of the Legion of Honor.
